Ah…Mike, will you now accept that M. Night Shyamalan has LOST it. In fact had lost it long ago? The viewer knows going into a Shyamalan movie that wait for it……wait for it….some ironic twist is going to occur. B-O-R-I-N-G.
Its time for him to move on to another genre, rather then the Rod Serling-Twilight Zone ironic twist plot (that Serling did much better too).

Damn. I had high hopes for this one.
