Living and breathing in the Second City
The Red Eye quietly reported yesterday that the Arrested Development Movie appears to be a sure thing:
That’s according to star Jeffrey Tambor (above) anyway, who yesterday told Steve Weintraub of collider.com that the much-rumored film is a go. Tambor said he talked to “AD” creator Mitch Hurwitz last week, who said it was on.
Tambor [...]
If you would like an in-depth explanation of the methodology employed by sports franchises and the local/city and state governments that often work hand in hand with the sports franchises to secure Public financing, even AGAINST the public’s wishes, check out this book, Public Dollars, Private Stadiums: The Battle over Building Sports Stadiums
It is an [...]
Some enterprising entrepreneurs have already come up with Fukudome t-shirts…
You gotta be kidding me. The state is already in a heap of debt. Wrigley Filed would have no shortage of private bidders and STILL Blagojevich thinks the taxpayers should own it. The same politicians who have shown they can even run the state right think they are qualified to run Chicago’s playground? I need [...]
So, while the Cubs prepare to welcome Kosuke Fukudome with open arms and great expectations, they simultaneously severed ties with pitcher Mark Prior (who was welcomed in 2003 with great expectations) yesterday.
I’d like to say that I heard the news of Prior’s release with shock and sadness, but I’d be lying.
I have yet to hear [...]

2. Fukudome
3. Soriano
4. Ramirez
5. Lee
6. Derosa
7. Soto
8. Pie
9. Zambrano
What do you think?
Big surprise. The Illinois Policy Institute has finally documented what most of us thought was common sense. 4 out of 5 registered voters would NOT send their kids to public school if they had other options (i.e. private schools, charter schools, etc).
Also check out the State Journal Register’s coverage.
All craft breweries should be on alert.
Let the hopes and dreams of Cub fans everywhere once again be raised to the heavens (perhaps irrationally) in the impending signing of Japanese baseball star Kosuke Fukudome.
Fukudome gives the Cubs a much needed left handed bat in the lineup, especially after trading Jacque Jones this off season.
Fukudome has been called a combination of the [...]
Working in education policy made me angry at teachers. Not because they aren’t worthy of praise, but because they constantly pretend to be above criticism. Every teacher is an angel from heaven doing a duty second in righteousness only to the lord Jesus dying on the cross. When you bring up the need for merit [...]
