Living and breathing in the Second City
Update: Since posting this yesterday, the video in question was curiously removed from YouTube. Why we don’t know yet. But lucky the internet is a place where you can find just about anything if you look hard enough.
Wow! That’s all I can say. Wow. And how does this elevate the political discussion? Oh, that’s right it’s all for “for the children.”
The fog comes
on little cat feet.
It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on.

It does not elevate the discussion, but it is nice to at least see a positive message, unlike that trashy negative Republican video you posted the other day.

Come on! if it was a video of kids singing about McCain or Bush you’d be flipping out!
Yes, I will give these guys for being positive. ABSOLUTELY. But for people worried about the PROCESS, like me, this has to disturb you a little doesn’t it?

Why not explain abortion to these kids, advise them that Obama thinks it\’s okay to kill a baby \"Mama doesn\’t want\" and then ask them if they still want to sing about him.
These children are being used.

Pretty scary video - no wonder they removed it. Another dissapearing act is occuring - certain files for the Chicago Annenberg Challenge stored at UIC, are no longer available to public (ironically just after an editorial ran in the Wall Street Journal on 9/23/08).

I grew up in Hong Kong during the Cultural Revolution when China was under the throes of Mao Tse Tung. As I child I witnessed many similar scenes of this type…children under the direction of adults singing the praises of a leader they thought would change the world and provide for their every need and prosperity.
We all know what happened with that…I would caution strongly against this sort of indoctrination and adulation of a leader.
Frankly…I found this video and all it stands for to be very alarming.

this makes me sick to my stomach. its the type of thing the nazi youth were doing when hitler was in power. They arent even making a conscientious choice about obama they’re being exploited. it is greatly alarming to me that they’d be singing the praises of a person who is a self-promoting elitist as a selfless leader who will benefit them. Excuse me, i need to throw up…

Hey, thanks for finding another versin. I had it posted on my blog until it was removed from youtube. This is unbelievable. I wonder if these kids will ever find out if they know that Obama thinks their parents were “punished with a baby”.

Barb…If these children, and let us remember, they ARE children, were self-organized adults, and they were singing for \"peace\", say, during the holiday season..fine and dandy. They are NOT! One can sing about peace and change without mentioning Obama, who does NOT have a copyright on \"respect and responsibility.\" Your analogy to video games is invalid. I\’ll bet those old films of fair-haired teens singing Hiltler\’s praises were also about \"change and peace\". I repeat…THIS is frightening!!!

I think you folks are all a wee bit disturbed. Its not like he is forming corps of marching children in neckerchiefs and jack boots.
The tune is catchy and easy to sing.
The message is positive
