Please explain what “important” roles they’re playing. Speaking for a few minutes as people in the auditorium mill about and have side conversations is hardly “important.”
They are members of their party with high-ranking elected offices just like almost everyone else speaking at the convention. Same goes for the folks who will be up next week at the GOP convention.
