Jimmy Carter to set the stage at Democratic Convention
Posted by Mike | August 20, 2008 | |
I’m not sure it was a good idea for Obama to invite Jimmy Carter to speak at the Democratic Convention. Sure it would be difficult to say no; the guy is a former-president. But it is more than a little risky given Carter’s penchant for making controversial statements and embracing foreign dictators.
The last think Obama needs is to reinforce the notion that his foreign policy approach would be … well … like Jimmy Carter’s.
Of course, John McCain is complaining.

Clearly Obama cleared this decision…a mighty statement no? While Obama accuses McCain of being Bush, Obama treads dangerously as he can be accused of being a shiny new Carter.
