Well, not quite. It’s Friday and I don’t really feel like talking about important stuff, so let’s talk football. The Trib is taking a poll of its readers: “Do you want Brett Favre to be the quarterback of the Chicago Bears this season?” This is a no brainer. Bears fans hate the Packers, not Brett Farve. Farve plays the game with such genuine love that it is virtually impossible to hate the guy. If he becomes a Bear, all the better. Yes, he’s in decline. But (A) our young QBs could stand to be around a great player like Farve for a year or two and (B) if he sucks we can always go back to starting Grossman or Orton.

But he won’t suck. In fact, I predict the Farve/Hester tandem would be record setting. With Hester’s speed and Farve’s ability to move in the pocket, the 80-yard bomb might become second nature.
