Living and breathing in the Second City
So I went to my first Fire game on Saturday. We got dumped on pretty bad by the passing thunderstorms, but there were still 20,000 people there. Impressive. Being only my second professional soccer (err, Football) match, it was quite exciting. And a little disappointing: the Fire lost in the first minute of penalty time.
A great story to relay though, a friend was sitting behind a row of children. At one particularly dramatic moment this friend lept to his feet and cursed. Remembering the children, he immediately apologized, in response to which one precocious boy turned to him and said: “That’s ok, I go to hockey games.”
Thank god for Hockey.
