Living and breathing in the Second City
Ever since this campaign started, people have been asking me whether I thought Obama had what it takes to beat the Clintons. My response is always the same: it doesn’t matter. It just doesn’t matter to me whether Obama is a “good” enough candidate. I’m from Arkansas and so I NEVER bet against the Clintons, ever.
But Mike, it’s over right? Can’t you concede that Obama has the nomination sewn up? Well, no. I won’t concede until the Clintons do. Until then, there’s always a chance. Especially if another tape comes out, a tape that shows Michelle Obama using the word “whitey” and sounding like Jerimiah Wright.
The fog comes
on little cat feet.
It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on.

I think you mean Jeremiah Wright, not Jeremiah White
But seriously, if such a tape exists, I really think the Tribune would have found it already, especially if it’s as easy to find as that blog you link to suggests. Michelle Obama is a well-educated woman with a distinguished career, and it strikes me as incredibly unlikely that she would come unhinged like that. Not impossible, because nothing is, but just not likely.

Oops. Believe it or not, that’s not the most embarassing typo I’ve had on this site. I was thinking “whitey” and then Wright, and well, it’s early. Thanks for pointing it out.
I tend to agree with you. I’m going to make some phone calls and see what I can find out. But my guess is that this is a rumor put out by the Clintons to try and pressure Obama. Or ‘B’ there is actually a tape, but the Obama folks are hyping it so that when it actual comes out it will seem very tape. That’s a strategy right from the Clinton’s playbook.
