Living and breathing in the Second City
>As most of you know, I have been filing FOIAs on a regular basis, not because I necessarily think Chicago> City Government is corrupt (!ahem!) but because I think there is certain information taxpayers should be provided whether they ask for it or not.
>>Credit Card statements are a big one. All my credit card bills are viewable online. The way I see it, the taxpayers are paying for thousands of official credit cards used by government agencies. Those statements should be viewable to. So, I8217;ll keep requesting them and making them public here until the City makes them public voluntarily.
>>A couple weeks back I FOIA>-ed Arne Duncan’s credit card statement> for January 2008. I finally received it. I was shocked at how little activity there was on it. But I guess I applaud him for it. Though, I wonder if I should have requested his expense reports?
