Living and breathing in the Second City
I take Metra in every day. This week the train has been shorter. By that, I mean fewer train cars, which means fewer places to sit. If they had cut back in order to avoid raising taxes, I would have been fine. But seeing as taxes were raised, I am wondering why I’m standing up all the way into the city. Anyone else notice their trains are shorter? Shouldn’t we be a little pissed?

It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on.

Chicagoblog, I disagree profusely. I have been riding Metra off and on for about 8 years now and I believe that it is not the trains being shorter, it is the amount of people that are taking the train dramatically increasing because of the the High fuel costs.
